Breastfeeding torn nipple free
How can the answer be improved?
as odd as it sounds, tea bags helped to toughen my nipples up. I would soak them in hot water while i nursed and after my little one was done eating i would squeeze the water out of the tea bag, place one on each nipple, and then put a breast pad on so i wouldnt leak all over my shirt. i would normally wear them for about 20 minutes (although sometimes it ended up being until the next feeeding).

Mar 21, 2009 I am nursing my 3rd little one and I have never had such a problem. I have been nursing him for 9 weeks now. But a week ago I notice both of my nipples starting to tear away at the bottom. I have two cuts on both nipples. Its agony to nurse but im determined. It seems like the cuts are getting longer, and deeper. Ive used the ointment the hospital gave me but it isnt helping.

Sometimes the tip of the nipple is tender and reddened from your babys tongue rubbing against it. In either case, the treatment plans are the same.
