he Richmond womens lacrosse team participated in the 2008 American Cancer Society. Making Strides against Breast Cancer Walkon Saturday, October 18, 2008. The Spiders completed the 5k walk by trekking through Byrd Park located in downtown Richmond. The event was in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Seniors Allie Ware and Hayley Ross have been involved in the breast cancer walk since they started at Richmond. This year, the captains decided they would change their approach to fundraising. As of late September, the lacrosse team has raised approximately 3, 000 and is fourth in fundraising out of the 187 participating teams.
Every threefive mile Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk is a powerful and inspiring opportunity to unite as a community to honor breast cancer survivors, and raise awareness about steps we can take to reduce the risk of getting breast cancer.
Oct 21, 2018 WANTAGH, N. Y. The NYIT women's lacrosse team pitched in on a blustery Sunday morning for a good cause. The team reported to Jones Beach at 6: 15 a. m. to volunteer at the American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk. It is the largest such breast cancer walk sponsored by the American Cancer Society nationwide.
